New Book

Dear All,

Maybe some of you have recently published a new book and would like to release that information for your peers. If you do, I do not mind to post a little note here in the blog. Just let me know.

Meanwhile, during the EABS I have received a copy of Bernard M. Levinson's newest book, which was exhibited in the book display. The book had just been printed and, therefore, was on display in the Cambridge section.

The book is intitled "Legal Revision and Religious Renewal in Ancient Israel" and you can find more information about it at: https://www.cambridge.org/us/catalogue/catalogue.asp?isbn=0521513448

Just a few words to say that it was a pleasure to receive you all in Lisboa. We truly hope to see you back in the future in many and different ways.

Thanks to the meeting, the university library has just received a very generous offer from some publishers of books, that will finally fill the spaces in our shelves.

If you have any post-conference issue and you need any further help, please let me know,

Ana

Almost there

Sunday is just around the corner... it has been a crazy week, but everything seems to be working and ready to receive you all in the beautiful city. I wish you all a pleasant trip, but especially a fabulous conference.

I will be at the Hotel Vip Grande Lisboa tomorrow afternoon starting at 4pm to help you going throuhg your reservations. A representative from Agência Abreu will also be there tomorrow. So, if you have questions, please drop by.

Now, some last minute notes:

1) PowerPoint: it turns out that the machines will accept a USB flash drive. However, you have to turn manually your slides using the keyboard or the mouse, because there are no remotes.
These PC's are not Mac friendly. Be aware of that, especially if you are presenting on Monday morning.

2) Session Chairs: Could you please join me at the faculty on Monday morning at 8:15 am for a quick demonstration on how to use our AV machines? It will be handy, especially given the fact that the Win XP used is in Portuguese.

3) There are to copy centres working at the faculty, but none opens before 10am. Please keep this in mind if you need handouts for the Monday morning session.

4)Room 6.1 has been relocated to Anf. II as you will see. No worries, because it is a visible change.

5)Room 7.1, Book display, and the Graduate Network Group Room are located on the 2nd floor. All other rooms are on 1st floor.

6) The weather in Lisboa is magnificent. Nice temperatures that chill a bit in the evening. I am sure that you will enjoy them.

7) For those of you attending the guided tour of Lisboa on Sunday, please do not forget to bring some coins for the transportation, sun lotion, hat and confortable shoes. We will be walking... therefore, plenty of water will also be necessary. Please make sure to arrive to the Hotel a little before 9am, so that we can leave sharply at 9am. There are too many things to be visited and i would hate to miss them because of delays.

8) Information about Lisboa is inside your tote bags. No need to worry to get a map of the city or of the underground.

9) If arriving by air, use a taxi from the airport to the hotel. It is much easier, quite convenient and not expensive. If you want to be sure of the amount, buy a "Taxi Voucher" from the Lisboa's Tourism Office at the airport.

Well, I cannot remember of anything else that could be of any use to you. But if you still have questions, please let me know by email.

Have a safe trip,

Ana
